Curtin University is proud to host the Art of Peace: Art after War symposium, a two-day event exploring the transformative power of art in post-conflict societies.
📅 1–2 February 2025
📍 Building 202, Room 122, Curtin University, Bentley Campus
In the aftermath of war, genocide, and conflict, how do artists find the courage to create? How can their work serve as a bridge to healing and understanding? This symposium brings together nine acclaimed artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rwanda, and Timor-Leste—countries that have faced unimaginable horrors yet demonstrate the resilience of the human spirit through art.
The event features discussions with the artists whose work is showcased in the Art of Peace exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia, running from 1 February to 29 June 2025.
