Through the Curtin University Sustainability Challenge and partnership with the Fremantle Dockers, Curtin students collaborated on the 2025 renewable energy goal in place for the Fremantle Dockers training facility.
Curtin University students enrolled in our Curtin Sustainability challenge were granted the opportunity to work with one of our industry partners, the Fremantle Dockers Football Club, to transform the Fremantle Dockers Elite Training and Administration facility in Cockburn Perth, to 100% renewable energy by 2025. The Facility holds one of the largest roof-top solar panel infrastructures in the southern hemisphere, which generates 25 per cent of its annual power consumption.
Presented by Professor Josh Byrne, Dean of Sustainable Futures in the Faculty of Humanities Curtin University, this video features sustainability outcomes of our partnership with the Fremantle Dockers football club.
The Curtin Sustainability challenge offers opportunities for students to collaborate on real world sustainability issues with project engagement and management strategies at the forefront of its outcomes. Collaboration of this kind is not only beneficial to Curtin University students but is also an opportunity for our industry partners to engage with the next generation of creative thinkers.
