Survey development for parents and children: Exploring the impact of social media marketing on children’s attitudes, behaviours and food choices
The project
Food marketing through social media is becoming increasingly prevalent, particularly in sports-related contexts. These promotions can influence children’s attitudes, preferences and behaviours. Researchers at Curtin are conducting a study that aims to assess the impact of social media posts on children’s recall of the advertised brand and their intentions, attitudes and preferences.
The involvement opportunity
The research team are looking for three parent-child Consumer Representatives (parent, and child aged 8-12 years) to help refine survey materials.
As a Consumer Representative your input will help to ensure the survey is clear, concise and appropriate for children in this age group.
You and your child will:
- Review and provide feedback on materials for the survey including wording, structure, images in the survey and length
- Participate in x1 online meeting to discuss and refine the survey content
Skills and experience
- You need to reside in Australia
- Your child needs to be between 8-12 years of age and able to attend the session with you
- Some interest in sport (AFL, netball, cricket) would be beneficial
