Activity resources for high school teachers

By popular demand, we’ve released a selection of activity resources for teachers to use in the classroom. See below for our current public activities and feel free to contact us with any specific requests!

Globalisation of technology and disruptions

This activity introduces the different types of economies around the world, including agricultural, industrial, technological and knowledge. Students will then explore how disruptions can impact all economies (and countries, by extension) and brainstorm in their groups how their specific disruption might impact the world, both positively and negatively.

Phishing expedition – scams activity

This activity focuses on helping consumers identify the ways in which they can protect themselves from risks, such as debt and identity theft by becoming familiar with scams and techniques employed by scammers. This activity takes 40 to 45 minutes.

This activity is suitable for years 9 and 10 and can accommodate groups of 30 to 40 students.

United Nations economic indicators

This 45-minute to 1-hour activity introduces and reinforces the concepts of economic indicators for year 10 students. After learning about each economic indicator, students will split into smaller groups in a roleplay activity designed to mimic a United Nations meeting. This will run through different world events and students will decide in their teams how these events would impact their country’s performance. The activity promotes critical thinking over finding the ‘right’ answer, so students should be encouraged to discuss their thoughts and reasoning.
