By year 9, most children understand that they’re on an important learning journey, and that education gives them the best chance of a rewarding job and career. If your child is in year 9 or 10, they may already be curious about the university stage of their education.
This session is designed specifically for parents of year 9 and 10 students who may be wondering about university, starting a career and what to study in their final school years. We’ll answer your questions about university education – from preparation to graduation – and you’ll learn about Curtin Perth and the opportunities that our global campuses can offer.
You’ll hear from several Curtin experts about:
- Subject selection, courses and careers.
- What to do when your child is advised to try a different pathway
- Top support strategies that parents can offer teenagers entering year 11
- On-campus accommodation options and benefits
- Available scholarships, including those that consider extracurricular activities your child might undertake during high school
- Student support services, which range from study skills to reducing stress, and the common requests for help we hear from first-year students.
Is your child in year 11 or 12?
Curtin has a designated information session for students in years 11 and 12, running simultaneously to the year 9 and 10 session. Your can register for the session here.
