Have you ever felt lonely? 🤔
No one wants to admit it, but every one of us has most likely experienced feeling lonely at some point in our lives.
Curtin University graduate, Human Connection Expert and Author Simone Heng -Human Connection Expert knows a lot about being lonely, she left an enviable global media career and social life to move back to her family home in Perth to care for her mother.
All alone in a city she hadn’t lived in for years and a house filled with memories but empty of people, Simone realised that human connection is one of our most essential needs.
Starting her own business after leaving a toxic workplace that left her feeling disillusioned and disconnected, she decided to make it her life mission to help others, including Fortune 500 companies like Google and Spotify become better human connectors.
“What became very clear to me was a need for organisations to prepare their workforce to become better human connectors, in the face of artificial intelligence, this is becoming even more important,” she says.
In her latest book, ‘Let’s Talk About Loneliness’, Simone shares her journey to understanding the value of human connection and shows you how to build meaningful friendships in our technological world. 📖
In celebration of hashtag#InternationalFriendshipDay last Sunday, Simone shares her top tips for making friends below.
