Curtin Graduation Ceremonies
ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS
Together with fellow alumni, come support our graduating class at the February 2025 Curtin Graduation Ceremonies held on the Bentley Campus.
Volunteers will assist graduates to take photos and direct and usher attendees.
All volunteers will be briefed prior to their shift and food and drinks will be provided on each day that you volunteer.
Help shape research projects
ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS
Wellbeing during the transition to high school – We are recruiting Year 6 kids and caregivers to join our study investigating language, reading and mental health in the transition to secondary school. Participation involves completing a survey and language and reading tasks online or in person. Children receive a gift voucher and parents receive a non-diagnostic report of their child’s performance on the language and reading tasks. More information and to register
Role play patients for health sciences
ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS
ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS
Assist medical, nursing or midwifery students in their learning by role playing as a simulated patient at the Curtin School of Medicine or the Curtin School of Nursing.
These Schools are seeking volunteers to aid students in learning essential communication and patient care skills.
Intergenerational Early Learning Centre
ACCEPTING VOLUNTEERS
The Curtin University Early Learning Centre invites seniors to volunteer in an Intergenerational Program.
Volunteers visit one of our rooms for one to two hours on a morning of their choice, to interact with the children in a meaningful way. Read stories, help with the garden, enjoy a cup of tea at a tea party, build tall towers, do puzzles etc.
Please note, there is always an Educator close by and English does not have to be your first language.
Curtin FM
ACCEPTING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
Curtin FM is a community station and our volunteers play an essential role in helping us continue to broadcast to our listeners. We offer a stimulating and rewarding professional environment for our volunteers.
Volunteering must be available for a weekly three hour shift (minimum) for an extended period of time.
Curtin FM periodically have volunteer opportunities available as a Producer or Office Personnel.

See a a show presented by Curtin Theatre Arts students and the Hayman Theatre Company.
Sunday Night Theatre from 7pm weekly.
FREE Lunchtime Theatre from 12.10pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Week Night Theatre from 7pm Tuesdays to Saturday.
John Curtin Gallery
The John Curtin Gallery is one of Western Australia’s major public art galleries and showcases a diverse and changing range of contemporary Australian and International art.
Open 11am-5pm weekdays and 12pm-4pm Sunday.
Entry is free for everyone.
TL Robertson Library
The TL Robertson Library, renovated in 2023, offers a range of print and electronic resources and spaces (indoor and outdoor study spaces, bookable rooms, computers, printers, exhibition space, makers space).
Community members and alumni can use all library spaces during public opening hours. Alumni can apply for a free library membership which provides access to various print and electronic resources, referencing services, and room bookings.

CEO for a Day
Accepting CEO’s & Senior Leasers
Each year we invite expressions of interest from industry leaders, senior executives and CEOs to participate in CEO for a day.
This program is run by Recruit Curtin and allows a Curtin student to shadow you for a day or two. It is an opportunity for experienced industry professionals to connect with Curtin’s aspiring leaders of tomorrow, sharing their knowledge and expertise.
Industry Mentoring Program
Accepting Mentors
Curtin’s Industry Mentoring Program (IMP) is run by Recruit Curtin and partners Curtin alumni with a current student interested in working in your field.
Over the five-month program (May-October) Mentees and Mentors will connect for at least one hour each fortnight and work together to identify what your student hopes to accomplish and assist them to achieve these goals. This may include helping current students develop professional skills and networks, teaching them about your industry and sharing your experience e.g. what skills have been most impactful in your journey and how you got to where you are now.
Host a Student Intern

The Faculty of Business and Law is seeking organisations interested in hosting unpaid Curtin student interns for a minimum of 150 hours across 10 – 12 weeks.
We have a diverse pool of student candidates spanning various majors in business including HR, Accounting, Finance, Marketing/PR, information systems and supply chain/logistics.
Student interns bring enthusiasm and new ideas into the workplace, providing valuable support where needed. By hosting an intern, you can engage with Curtin University and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of industry professionals.
Engineer Guest Presentations
Accepting Professional Engineers
Calling for professional engineers from disciplines of chemical, mechanical, mechatronic, electrical, civil and construction and software engineering to present on an Industry Panel to 1st year students.
You will be placed on a panel of 3–4 and present about your experience in project design in engineering. This may focus on the technical aspect and/or issues related to communication, time management, career pathways etc.
The panel presentation will occur on Bentley campus in Week 8 of Semester 1 and 2 and be followed by Q&A. The panel and Q&A will be approximately 1.5 hours, your presentation being 10-15 minutes.
Engineer Feedback Panel
Accepting Professional Engineers
Calling professional engineers to be part of our feedback panel. You will evaluate 1st year student projects presented in Week 13 of Semester 1 and 2 on Bentley Campus.
The team-based projects address a challenge posed by Engineers Without Borders and aim to embed the acquisition of communication skills in a technically based project.
Ask questions and to provide valuable feedback and advice to the next generation of engineers.
Each workshop will be held for approximately 3 hours and have 6-10 projects presented.

Opening your home to an international student gives you the opportunity for an unforgettable and rewarding experience.
Homestay allows you to meet new people from all over the world and learn about different cultures, languages and food all from the comfort of your own home! Students are excited to experience the Australian way of life and your warm welcome improves their chances for academic success and cultural acceptance.
Our local teams use AHN’s unique preference-based placement process to connect hosts with guests who will be a good match for the household and you will be reimbursed for providing a clean room, meals, utilities and a welcoming home.

Curtin provides two events annually for students, graduates and industry to connect.

Students and graduates can attend to browse a range of jobs and organisations.
Industry can strengthen and expand their organisation’s profile while engaging with a diverse range of potential employees (students and graduates).
Meet the Recruiter
Students and recent graduates can engage with the recruiter responsible for managing jobs advertised under Recruit Curtin, Earn While You Learn and/or the Aboriginal Student Placement Program.
Recruiters are available for in-person or online meeting to help you explore current vacancies, provide general information on the Recruit Curtin, Earn While You Learn and Aboriginal Student Placement programs, address job-specific questions and recommending further resources and services to improve job applications and development.
This service is available every Wednesday from 11:00am – 1:00pm in B101.201. No bookings required. Sessions are approximately 15 minutes depending on demand.
Recruitment Services and Job Board
Curtin alumni have access to the same FREE career development services as a student for up to 12 months after graduation via the UniHub webpage.
This includes: workshops and events, job application reviews and other one to one appointments with a Career Counsellor, access to VMock resume review software, an exclusive Curtin job board and a wealth of career-focused resources.
If it has been more than 12 months since your graduation, you can book an individual appointment with a Career Development Consultant for a fee of $77 (including GST).
Promote a Job or Internship
Are you looking to recruit a Curtin student or a recent Curtin graduate? Recruit Curtin can help organisations connect with high calibre Curtin students and graduates and offers an array of services, including end-to-end recruitment, on-campus visits, career fairs, targeted promotions and partnership opportunities.
You can advertise your opportunities and events via UniHub, Curtin’s free jobs board for students and graduates.
In addition, Western Australian universities are always looking for local business and industry partners to host PhD students to undertake project work under a scheme called iPREPWA (Industry and PhD Research Engagement Program, Western Australia) or 60-day internships for PhD and professional doctorate candidates.

Curtin Entrepreneurs provides budding or established entrepreneurs and startup founders with the support, resources, and network they need to scale global businesses.
Benefits range from access to our co-working space on Bentley campus, networking and bespoke events, sessions with our Entrepreneurs in Residence and entrepreneurship experts, plus much more.
Join Curtin Invest Angel Syndicate
Early stage investment forms a critical component of the journey for many startup founders and innovation driven businesses. Yet participation in angel investing remains relatively low in Western Australia compared to other regions.
Curtin University has developed the Curtin Invest Angel Syndicate to address this problem, providing a mechanism for the founders supported through our Entrepreneur pipeline to access capital from angel investors drawn from the Curtin community, and for prospective investors to gain an education around the process of angel investing.
If you do choose to invest, there is a low minimum investment of $5,000

All ideas are welcome. Previous winners of the Curtinnovation Awards include an electrolyser process to produce green hydrogen from untreated water; an AI chatbot that prompts users to better manage their life and emotions; and a device that saves children with chronic ear infections from surgery.
