Postcards from Prison sees current and former prisoners sharing their unique perspectives, emotions and talents through a diverse array of artworks, offering a glimpse into the complexities of life behind bars and the transformative power of art.

Through programs such as JETA, art-making has shown to have a significant role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of incarcerated people into wider communities, preventing alienation and recidivism. To learn artistic skills and thinking promotes self-critical thinking and imagination, an access to a refreshed sense of self and identity.

Evening Landscape 2023, acrylic on canvas. Every evening I watch the sun go down and think how my life is passing by. I think to myself how much I miss my family and my Country, the South West, and being free. Being free is like the eagle soaring through life.
