Acknowledgement of Country

John Curtin Gallery acknowledges all First Nations People of this place we call Australia and recognises the many nations who have looked after Country for more than 60,000 years. We are honoured and grateful for the privilege to operate in Boorloo (Perth) in Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present as Custodians and Owners of these lands. We recognise their deep knowledge and their cultural, spiritual and educational practices, and aspire to learn and teach in partnership with them.

Hand Puppet Making Workshop

Discover the magic of storytelling through art at our special puppet-making workshop inspired by Alice Guiness’s powerful Burndud Ground exhibition.

Led by John Curtin Gallery’s Education Coordinator Neeti Sethi, this unique creative experience invites participants to explore Yindjibarndi storytelling traditions by crafting their own hand puppets.

More than just a craft session, this workshop is a journey of cultural expression, allowing children and young storytellers to explore their identity through the transformative power of art.

Ages: 8-teens.

Free event: Book here.
