John Curtin Gallery acknowledges all First Nations People of this place we call Australia and recognises the many nations who have looked after Country for more than 60,000 years. We are honoured and grateful for the privilege to operate in Boorloo (Perth) in Australia. We pay our respects to Elders past and present as Custodians and Owners of these lands. We recognise their deep knowledge and their cultural, spiritual and educational practices, and aspire to learn and teach in partnership with them.

Participants are invited to respond to the John Curtin Gallery exhibition Brett Whiteley: Inside the Studio through a still life drawing workshop with Andy Quilty.

Alongside our current season of exhibitions, we invite you to attend a drawing workshop led by artist Andy Quilty. After viewing the drawings and studies on show in Brett Whiteley: Inside the Studio, you will be lead through a drawing workshop on the still life study of sculptural objects from the Curtin University Art Collection.

Andy Quilty is an artist, independent arts worker and Lecturer in Fine Arts at the University of Western Australia. He works across the state facilitating creative development workshops in schools, Aboriginal art centres, community organisations, non-profits and prisons. His practice identifies a creative visual language located in outer suburbia incorporating material and psychological expressions, markings and gestures, positioned as inventive expressions of outer suburban experience. andyquilty.net
