We are excited to welcome staff, students and community members back to TL Robertson Library, which will open to the public on Monday, 20 February 2023 – the first day of orientation week (‘O-Week’).
To showcase the exciting features of the Library, guided tours will be offered throughout O-Week with visitors given the opportunity to explore the new spaces, including the reading room, flexible study areas, and the creative technologies available in the Library’s Makerspace. Library staff will be on hand to facilitate discovery and answer questions, but visitors can also explore independently (or in a group!) by playing the Library’s augmented reality game, ROGUE, or by wandering through the space. Extended opening hours provide plenty of opportunity – the Library will be open until 10pm all week!
For new students commencing their Curtin University journey in 2023, the Library offers a range of orientation sessions and workshops, designed to ensure students start their studies on the right foot. Whether on-campus or online, students can attend events and learn more about finding information, referencing and academic writing, time management, maths, critical thinking and commonly used programs (and so much more!) before diving into the semester. All sessions provide attendees with the opportunity to ask questions and are promoted to students via the Personal Orientation Planner (available to students), where they can register for all activities running in O-Week.
The next time you’re on campus, come by and say hi – we can’t wait to see you!
