With the start of Semester 2, 2022, teaching staff are reminded to arrange access to unit readings through the Library’s Reading List service.
The due date to notify the Library of new book purchases for learning and teaching and statutory licence copying for Semester 2 is Friday 8 July 2022.
Using Reading Lists ensures the University meets its copyright obligations and follows policy set out in the Curtin Quality Assurance Manual. All learning resources copied under the University’s Statutory Licence must be recorded by being included on Reading Lists.
- A Library Reading List is required to be associated with all Blackboard instances – please ensure Reading Lists are provided to international campuses where applicable.
- All copying under the University’s statutory licence will be recorded in the Reading List system.
- Existing Library resources should be prioritised for selection as unit readings.
- Only resources that are essential for successful completion of the unit should be tagged as Essential – please ensure essential resources are available for purchase by the Library in electronic format before selecting the resource.
- Textbooks that students are required to purchase should be tagged as Prescribed Textbook – please ensure textbooks are available for purchase by the Library in electronic format before adoption.
