An update on the further relaxation of public health measures.
I am pleased to advise that as announced yesterday by the Premier, COVID-19 restrictions in Western Australia have now been further relaxed. This is very positive news, and shows that WA is effectively managing COVID-19 in the community. As always, I thank the Curtin community for the way it has come together to respond to the many challenges of the pandemic and I look forward to seeing our campuses even more vibrant than they are now.
The changes which will impact on Curtin are detailed below.
Close contact definition changed
Close contacts are now only household members or intimate partners of a person with COVID-19, or people who have had extended contact with someone with COVID-19 in a residential setting.
This means that (apart from people in our residential accommodation), people cannot become a close contact while on our Western Australian campuses. Despite this new definition, we still encourage everyone to maintain 1.5 metres of physical distancing wherever possible and your usual hygiene measures.
Students are asked to continue to advise of any positive cases by using the webform.
Contact registration
Contact registration (QR codes or manual registers) are now only required for hospital visitors. Curtin venues will remove all QR code signs.
