The Library is here to help! Before you get stuck into classes and assignments, take some time to get familiar with our services – the Library will help you hit the ground running in semester two and excel in your studies!
- Visit the Library spaces
Throughout 2022, the TL Robertson Library (building 105) is closed for construction, undergoing a significant refurbishment project to address end-of-life services and modernise the building’s facilities. During this time, the Library is operating out of three newly refurbished locations, with a range of different spaces and equipment to support different study styles and preferences for groups and individuals.
Bring your student ID card to swipe in and have a wander around or, if you prefer, book in for a guided walking tour with one of our friendly Library staff. Walking tours are running in orientation week and the first two weeks of semester and can be booked here. Library locations, a list of services and opening hours can be found on the Perth libraries page.
- Use the catalogue
The catalogue gives you access to resources for your studies such as journal articles, books and more. We offer a number of online resources and workshops to help orientate you with the catalogue – now’s the best time to learn before semester starts!
- Check out UniSkills
UniSkills is our academic and study skills support website, covering assignment, study, digital and numeracy skills and packed full of interactive modules. UniSkills is a one-stop, easy to use, interactive platform to help you through your university journey.
- Connect with others
Got a specific question about your course content or need help with studying? We have lots of one-on-one and tailored help available during semester. Check out Studiosity for online study help, the Peer Academic Mentoring program for help from a high achieving student and UniPASS for group study sessions in selected units. The Library also hosts a range of in-person (Perth Campus) and online workshops on topics including research and writing assignments, referencing, presentations, numeracy and statistics, digital skills and software training, and assessment preparation; visit our workshops calendar to browse upcoming events and sign up.
- Extend yourself (23 Things/Makerspace)
There’s more to uni than just studying – it’s an opportunity to expand your interests and learn important life skills. A great place to do this is our Makerspace. Get creative and make things with our huge range of equipment, like 3D printers, sewing machines and VR equipment, with staff on hand to help you learn. Or you might like to try our online digital skills program 23 Things. Made by students for students, you can choose from a variety of different modules including coding, video editing and digital storytelling.
And don’t forget, you can always ask us for help – we’ll point you in the right direction! Good luck!
