Curtin University of Technology graduate Andrew Bright has been recognised for his academic excellence at the recent Curtin Business School (CBS) Prize Ceremony.
The Wattle Grove resident received the Marketforce Marketing Communications prize for the best graduating student with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Advertising.
The three-time award winner said he was proud to finish his degree with a commendation.
“I was a mature age student when I enrolled and I was quite nervous about it. I’d been out of a learning environment for long enough to be daunted by it,” Mr Bright said.
“Curtin staff were a great help in this regard because they could see I was serious about my degree. It’s nice to be acknowledged for all the long hours I put into my assignments.”
Mr Bright was on the Curtin Vice-Chancellor’s List three times. The List recognises the top one per cent of undergraduate students across all disciplines.
In 2007 and 2008 he was awarded a CBS prize for the best student in the Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Law units.
Mr Bright is now part of the Department of Treasury and Finance’s graduate program.
“The graduate program is great as it provides a diverse work program which allows for plenty of growth both professionally and personally,” he said.
