Transperth has put on extra buses during peak times for Curtin University of Technology students and staff travelling to and from the Canning Bridge train station.

Curtin Executive Director of Properties Mr Stephen Harvey said that there would be more Route 100 buses running between Canning Bridge and Curtin on weekday mornings and afternoons.

“Demand for the new, high-frequency service is outstripping capacity during peak times,” Mr Harvey said.

“The extra buses are all about convenience for our students and staff,” he said.

“Curtin is delighted that Transperth has increased capacity to better cope with peak demand.

“We are pleased that so many of our students and staff are taking advantage of the Route 100 and Route 101 bus services which are also available to the local community.”

Transperth Executive Director Mark Burgess said there were now six more Route 100 trips each weekday.

“Reflecting the level of demand, we have put on extra buses between 8.20am and 9.20am in the mornings and 2.55pm and 4.55pm in the afternoons,” Mr Burgess said.

“The new 100 and 101 bus services started when the Canning Bridge Interchange opened along with the rest of the Mandurah Line last December.”
