Students at Curtin University of Technology will receive their end of year results as usual despite industrial action by members of the National Tertiary Education Union.
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Jeanette Hacket said the Union had asked its members not to record or transmit student assessments and exam results between 10 and 24 November.
“We were advised of the bans earlier this month and have taken action to ensure students are not disadvantaged,” she said.
“Changes have been made to some procedures, including the collation of exam marks if needed, and all students will receive their results in the usual manner and at the usual time.”
Curtin has recently presented revised offers on salaries and conditions for both academic and general staff to the union bargaining teams, and Professor Hacket said that only a small number of issues were still to be resolved.
“These are fair and reasonable offers to improve salaries and conditions at Curtin, and the University remains committed to reaching agreement with the Joint Unions and staff,” she said.
“I hope the Union does not escalate this matter further.”
