Curtin University‘s project management degree course recently gained accreditation from the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Centre for Project Management Education Programs (GAC).
Director of the Project Management program, Associate Professor David Baccarini, said this is a significant achievement for Curtin.
“Not only does it mean that Curtin’s project management course is of the highest quality, but also it provides a valuable educational resource for the many project managers in Western Australia and elsewhere,” he said.
“Project management is a vital skill for the Western Australian economy. It’s the only way that any organisation can achieve its goals.
“Even Tony Blair said that the skill set required for making the modern state work effectively is through project management.”
Head of PMI Australasia, Anwar Benjamin said that the PMI-GAC accreditation confirms the scale and quality of Curtin’s University’s project management degree program.
“With the accreditation, the degree conforms to a comprehensive international standard, and arms the students with a globally-recognised qualification,” Mr Benjamin said.
“Congratulations to David and his team at Curtin on this achievement.”
