The vice-chancellors of Western Australia’s four public universities have issued a joint statement supporting the launch of a national student survey on sexual assault and harassment:
“Western Australia’s four public universities are strong supporters of the university sector’s Respect. Now. Always. campaign.
“We are absolutely committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for our students and view this national student survey as key to hearing what more needs to be done to prevent sexual assault and harassment and to support students quickly and effectively.
“We want to keep improving our responses and drawing on best practice – so our students know that their university is doing even more to ensure a culture of respect and safety.
“We look forward to commencing this confidential survey of students in September/October 2016.”
