Curtin University has jumped into the world’s top 250 universities in the 2018-19 University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP).
The University rose to the global ranking of 249, up from 272 last year, and remained ninth in Australia for the fifth year in a row, according to the latest results released today.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry welcomed Curtin’s results in the important research ranking, which measures the world’s top 2500 universities.
“The latest URAP shows Curtin University has been named among the top 250 universities in the world and continues to hold ninth place in Australia,” Professor Terry said.
“This is an outstanding result that demonstrates the University’s commitment to producing a high quality and large volume of research on the world stage.
“The University will continue to undertake important research that is making a genuine difference to local, national and global communities.”
The URAP is a research-only ranking using indicators that measure the quality, quantity and impact of publications, as well as international collaboration.
The annual ranking is published by the Informatics Institute at the Middle East Technical University, in Turkey.
