Curtin University has risen to equal 174th in the world in the US News & World Report Best Global University Rankings 2021, jumping 16 places from last year.
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor John Cordery said the results reflected the University’s world-class performance in research and collaboration.
“I am proud to have Curtin again recognised on the global stage and this result is particularly pleasing as the US News Global Rankings reflects both academic research and international reputation,” Professor Cordery said.
“Curtin prides itself on its commitment to undertaking outstanding research that is relevant to industry and the wider community, and is also focussed on making real-world impact and transforming lives. Rankings such as those released today are recognition of this vision.
“I am also delighted that Curtin has featured in the top 250 universities in the world for 15 subjects and the top 100 universities in the world for five subjects.”
Curtin is ranked 24th in the world for Civil Engineering, up from 37th last year and 51st for Geosciences, up from 60. The University also ranked strongly in three debut subjects – 35th in Chemical Engineering; 99th in Public, Environmental and Occupational Health; and 100th in Energy and Fuels.
Curtin’s climb in the latest US News & World Report Best Global University Rankings caps off a strong performance in world rankings for 2021, which included rises in the QS World University Rankings (QSWUR) and the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings.
