Curtin University has launched its Curtin Credentials courses for professionals looking to upskill, cross-skill and re-skill in industry-focused areas that interest them.
These stackable micro-credentials are available in five curated key themes: Innovation, Leadership, Digital Mindset, Future of Work, and Influence & Persuasion.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor John Cordery said Curtin Credentials allow learners to further their professional development with a trusted education provider.
“These new Curtin Credentials are a response to both changing market needs and the changing nature of work and will provide a dynamic and engaging learning experience for today’s professionals who want to continue their skill development,” Professor Cordery said.
“With these new offerings, the Curtin learning experience will be available to an entirely new group of learners who want to grow and adapt to the changing labour market by choosing industry-relevant courses – delivered in a flexible, compact format by Curtin’s world-class teaching staff.”
Curtin Credentials support learners who seek to continue their professional development, training, and industry-focused study in shorter formats, delivering ‘just in time’ learning tailored to their professional needs or lifestyle.
Curtin University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Jill Downie said Curtin Credentials will be delivered in face-to-face, online, and blended formats, depending on the credential.
“Curtin Credentials will give learners the flexibility to choose learning that fits into their lifestyles, and how they wish to learn,” Professor Downie said.
“These credentials are delivered in a variety of formats for enhanced flexibility and can then be stacked into a Graduate Certificate of Professional Practice if the learner chooses to do so.
“With continued digital disruption and increasing popularity of lifelong learning, micro-credentials are the logical next step for Curtin in equipping learners with the skills they need to succeed.”
Courses set to be offered under Curtin Credentials include Leadership in Crisis and Recovery; Data Analytics and Machine Learning; Stress and Coping; and The Business of Mining.
