Your first semester at university is an exciting time. You will meet new people, learn new ideas and face plenty of challenges along the way.
There will be a lot to do, so it is important that you are well-prepared for your study journey.

There are lots of exciting tasks and opportunities to help you explore your options, build yourself and apply what you’ve learned into new experiences.
Wondering where to start? Here are some key tasks to check off as you prepare for your first semester at Curtin.
Get Ready for Orientation Week key tasks
Your student ID card does more than just identify you as a student at the University. Once you have your card, you will be able to access campus facilities, borrow from the library, print, photocopy and take advantage of a wide range of student discounts. Obtain your current year student sticker from Curtin Connect on campus in Building 102.
The academic calendar contains important academic dates that all students should know. Key dates include; the dates for standard enrolment events such as O-Week and census date, study periods and holidays.
Whether you’re an online or on-campus student, or a combination of both, you’ll use a range of online tools, resources, systems and software while studying at Curtin.
There are many ways to travel to campus. To make sure you get to your first class on time, plan your trip in advance and find the option that’s right for you.
Orientation Week key tasks
If you are living with a disability or medical condition our AccessAbility team can work with you to develop a Curtin Access Plan (CAP). A CAP outlines the reasonable adjustments recommended to enable equitable access to your studies and assessments.
