Two Curtin University researchers have been featured on the esteemed Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list 2014 – a list comprised of researchers whose papers have ranked among the top 1% most cited for their subject field and year of publication.
The international list represents some of the world’s leading scientific minds. Since the introduction of the Highly Cited Researchers list in 2001, only 3,000 researchers worldwide have been included.
Professor Simon Wilde and Professor Zheng-Xiang Li, both from the Department of Applied Geology, have been included in the 2014 list for their papers in geoscience. Their current research spreads from Australia to many other parts of the world, with an overarching theme of understanding the evolution and dynamics of the Earth.
Having researchers included on the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers list is a very significant outcome for Curtin and it is one of five indicators that determine the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
