Curtin WA School of Mines is excited to be hosting the 37th Safescape’s International Collegiate Mining Games in Kalgoorlie from 25 to 29 March. 50 teams have entered, including teams from Curtin, other Australian universities, UK, USA, South America and our own WASM Wombats.

“The games are a great forum for young mining professionals to forge lifelong friendships and strategies,” said Steve Durkin from Safescape, a major sponsor of the games.

The games are held in a different country each year, alternating between USA, UK and Kalgoorlie. Last year the Wombats coed team won their division and the men’s team came third.

“The entire social calendar for the Wombats is based around preparing and training for the games each year. Thank you to all the sponsors and supporters that have made this possible for us this year,” said Emma Trypuza, President of the Wombats coed team.
