We have all been very shocked and saddened by the terrible mass shooting in New Zealand today. Although the situation is still unfolding it was clearly a deliberate, violent and deadly attack on the Muslim community in Christchurch, and by extension, on New Zealand society.
On behalf of the University, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to our Muslim students and staff and those from New Zealand. I know you will have been deeply upset by this atrocity. Curtin is a proudly multicultural community and we abhor any acts of violence and extremism and share your grief.
