As we move closer towards the holiday season I wanted to acknowledge the outstanding and supportive response to the COVID-19 pandemic by students throughout the year. It has been an amazing effort from students across all of Curtin’s campuses.
Border changes
As Western Australia’s hard interstate border is relaxed, there is a possibility that we may see cases of COVID-19 arising in the WA community. If there are changes to the State or Federal Government’s instructions regarding COVID-19 which impact on Curtin’s operations, this information will be made available on the University’s COVID-19 website as soon as possible.
Travel
If you are planning to travel over the Christmas period, please monitor the public health situation at your destination, as the COVID-19 status can change very suddenly. Anyone planning private travel is advised to stay up to date with relevant state government border requirements.
SafeWA app
I would like to remind everyone to download and use the State Government’s new app, SafeWA. It will provide businesses and institutions with a digital contact register system and has been implemented across the State, including at specific Curtin venues, from 5 December.
All those entering affected venues, including students, must scan the QR code on entry. Anyone who does not have the app or a smart phone can sign-in on hardcopy registration forms which will be available. Registration in some form is mandatory.
I would like to wish you all a very relaxing holiday after what has been a particularly difficult year.
