Sometimes being a student can be a stressful experience, so if you would like support to tackle issues of stress and anxiety, or want to take a moment to unwind and re-focus, check out the range of FREE workshops run by the Curtin University Counselling Services Team.

 

Social Media Awareness Workshop

Social media is everywhere, and has become an all-consuming part of our lives. If you’re finding social media is creating stress in your life, this workshop with arm you with everything you need to know about using social media securely and responsibly.

Time & Date: 2pm – 4pm on Wednesday, 21 March.
Location: Curtin Bentley Campus, Counselling & Disability Services, Building 109, Level 2.

Anxiety Skills Group

Stressed? Anxious? This 10 session group held weekly might be just the thing you need to more effectively calm your mind and body when the many demands of student life become overwhelming.

Time & Date:
Group 110am-11.30am, Tuesdays, between 13 March and 22 May for a total of 10 sessions.
Group 2 – 11.30am-1pm, Thursdays, between 29 March and 31 May for a total of 10 sessions.
Location: Curtin Bentley Campus, Counselling & Disability Services, Building 109, Level 2.

Improve Your Mood

This 8-week “skills-based” group is designed to create awareness of what contributes to low mood and facilitate the development of new skills to better manage mood and prevent further bouts of depression.

Time & Date:
Group 1: Wednesdays, 11am- 12.30pm (28 March – 6 June)
Group 2: Tuesdays, 3.30pm- 5pm (27 March- 29 May)
Location: Curtin Bentley Campus, Counselling & Disability Services, Building 109, Level 2.

Mindfulness Meditation

Take a moment to unwind and learn strategies to effectively calm your mind and body when the many demands of student life become overwhelming.

Lunch Time Sessions: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (12pm-12.30pm).
Location: Curtin Bentley Campus, Counselling & Disability Services, Building 109, Level 2, Room 217.
Please Note: Meditation sessions run by Curtin Counselling Services do not require registration.
