Curtin University of Technology says there was little disruption to students today despite strike action by union members, as part of a national industrial campaign.
“I am pleased to say it was business as usual for the majority of our students at Curtin today, and only a very small number of staff participated in the one-day strike,” said Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Jeanette Hacket.
“Our staff have shown a great commitment to our students and I thank them for that.”
Professor Hacket said she hoped the pay issues and other conditions could be resolved as soon as possible.
“We put a new offer to the unions last week which is fair and reasonable and keeps Curtin in the top third in the sector in terms of pay and conditions,” she said.
“I hope that this matter can be resolved as soon as possible.”
