Curtin University has appointed award-winning and long-standing Perth agency Marketforce as its new marketing and advertising partner.
As part of an agreement for the next three years – and potentially up to five years – Marketforce will handle Curtin’s creative advertising and marketing.
The value of the agreement, which starts 1 September, may be up to $10 million over the full term of the agreement.
“Putting the University’s marketing and advertising needs out to the market gave us some difficult decisions as all tenderers provided high quality responses and there is so much talent within the Perth marketplace,” Curtin Chief Marketing Officer Karen Carriero said.
“Ultimately we viewed Marketforce as the best fit for the University going forward, as we look to build on our recent successes in attracting the most number of school leavers to Curtin in 2013, the Australian Business Awards and Australian Marketing Institute State Awards.
“We are looking forward to working with Marketforce and the new insights and fresh ideas they will bring to support Curtin’s marketing efforts.”
Marketforce chairman John Driscoll said the agency was excited by the opportunities presented by the Curtin partnership.
“With many of our staff being graduates of Curtin University the excitement of this appointment is shared throughout the agency,” Mr Driscoll said
“Curtin is an outstanding success story in Western Australia and we are delighted to have this opportunity to assist in further developing the already strong reputation of this great University.”
Ms Carriero acknowledged the contribution of and thanked the University’s previous advertising and marketing partner, The Brand Agency.
“The quality and business value of the work The Brand Agency has produced is evident in the first preference increase of 10.9 per cent Curtin has enjoyed since 2009,” she said.
The Curtin deal with Marketforce does not include media services or media expenditure as Curtin chooses to use the Western Australian State Government common use arrangement.
