Curtin University has jumped to a global ranking of 220th in the world, according to the 2019-2020 University Ranking by Academic Performance.
The University climbed 29 global places and continues to rank ninth in Australia in the latest world ranking, released by the Informatics Institute at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey.
Curtin University Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the University was committed to undertaking research that makes a difference to communities locally, nationally and globally.
“The University Ranking by Academic Performance is an important research ranking that measures the world’s top universities based on the quality and impact of their research,” Professor Terry said.
“I am absolutely delighted that Curtin continues to demonstrate its world-class research performance on the international stage.
“These latest results show Curtin has achieved a global ranking of 220th in the world and is ninth in Australia for the sixth year in a row.”
The 2019-2020 University Ranking by Academic Performance showed strong citation performance for Curtin, with a 43 per cent improvement in the citation impact total score and a nine per cent jump in the citation score.
The ranking was drawn from Clarivate Analytics’ InCites data, which provides article-level citation indicators using the Web of Science that allows an institution’s performance to be viewed at an organisational, regional, individual or journal level.
