Curtin University has ranked third equal highest median full-time undergraduate salary in Australia and is again Western Australia’s best performing public university for students finding full-time work after graduation, as revealed in the national 2021 Graduate Outcomes Survey.
The median full-time undergraduate salary for Curtin’s graduates, increased from $65,000 last year to $70,000 this year, making it the third equal highest in Australia and the highest in WA.
Curtin also achieved a 70 per cent employment rate for graduates, above the national average of 69 per cent for those who completed an undergraduate course last year.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne said the survey results demonstrate Curtin’s commitment to ensuring graduates have the best springboard into the workforce and are job-ready.
“Curtin’s strong results in the Federal Government’s Graduate Outcomes Survey follow our ranking in the latest Good Universities Guide, which also placed Curtin at number one for undergraduate outcomes, as well as starting salary, among WA’s public universities,” Professor Hayne said.
“Curtin University is extremely proud to be able to offer our students a world-class education that also includes practical, industry-relevant teaching and learning to ensure they are able to apply their degrees with success in the real-world.”
Earlier this year, Curtin was also ranked in the world’s top one per cent of universities in the QS World University Rankings (QSWUR) 2022, as well as achieving a QS Five Stars Plus rating, the highest available for a tertiary institution. Curtin is only one of three universities in Australia to achieve the QS Five Stars Plus recognition, and one of only 13 in the world.
The Graduates Outcomes Survey asks graduates questions about their employment within four months of the completion of their degree. The key measure – the full-time employment rate – is the proportion of people who have completed an undergraduate degree and have a full-time job, as a percentage of those graduates who were available for full-time employment.
