Curtin University of Technology’s Digital Media Unit (DMU) has won the education category of the 2008 WA Web Awards.
The awards, organised by the Australian Web Industry Association, were presented last week.
Curtin DMU Director, Rick Barrett, said the award recognised the concerted team effort that had gone into upgrading the University’s corporate website.
“It’s pleasing that the enormous amount of work that our team has put in over the past 12 months in redeveloping our website has been acknowledged in such a way,” he said.
“I’d also like to acknowledge the support of Curtin’s web community who have worked equally hard to ensure that the content, look and feel of their sections of the site work well and integrate seamlessly with the whole site.”
With the new developments planned for 2009, Mr Barrett hoped for ‘back-to-back’ wins.
“The whole University is committed to the need for the website to be the key source of information about Curtin and what we offer,” he said.
Curtin’s website was named in a recent survey by Global Reviews as being in the top five university websites in Australasia. Visit it at http://www.curtin.edu.au.
