Curtin University will work with the Muresk Institute to strengthen Western Australia’s agriculture industries following today’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement.
The MoU between Curtin and VET (WA) Ministerial Corporation (trading as the Department of Training and Workforce Development, Muresk Institute) will see both parties work together to build the capacity of WA’s agricultural industries through research and development as well as higher education.
Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said the three-year MoU bolstered the University’s long-standing commitment to agriculture education and research.
“Curtin has a strong history and commitment to teaching and research in agriculture in WA and is focussed on growing our agriculture research base, developing skills for the agriculture and food sectors and supporting growth within the sector,” Professor Terry said.
“Muresk seeks to work with Curtin to cultivate synergies between courses offered at Muresk and Curtin’s Agribusiness degree with the goal to offer students recognised credit transfer and streamlined articulation pathways.
“Muresk will provide the University with access to its facilities for agricultural education and research purposes, with particular emphasis on Honours, postgraduate and PhD student projects.”
