A public lecture by world renowned sustainability expert Professor Peter Newman

One of Australia’s leading sustainability academics and planners, Professor Newman will present a public lecture The Sustainability Challenge – Bring it On! at Curtin University of Technology as part of the 2008 Australian Innovation Festival on Tuesday 13 May 2008.
Professor Newman will focus on how sustainability is fast developing as a coherent approach to understanding the next wave of industrial, economic and technological change at the free event to be held from 5.30pm in lecture theatre 213.101 at the University’s Bentley Campus.
Professor Newman heads a team of more than 20 top staff and researchers that make up the Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute. Professor Newman developed the State Sustainability Strategy 2001-2003.
For more than 30 years he has been warning cities about preparing for ‘peak oil’ and in Perth, Professor Newman is known for his work in saving, rebuilding and extending the rail system which is now considered a global model.
