The Library is here to help! We’ll help you hit the ground running in semester two and excel in your studies.
Before you get stuck into classes and assignments you should take some time to get familiar with our services:
1. Visit the Library
Located in the centre of the Bentley campus, the TL Robertson Library is a great place for individual and group study. There’s plenty of power points and wifi if you’d like to bring your own device, but we do have computers if you’d prefer not to lug a laptop around. Bring your student ID card to swipe in and have a wander – and don’t forget to grab a famous Guild Café doughnut on the way out!
2. Use the catalogue
The catalogue gives you access to resources for your studies like journal articles, books and more. We offer a number of online resources and workshops to help orientate you with the catalogue – now’s the best time to learn before semester starts!
3. Check out UniSkills
UniSkills is our academic and study skills support website. Covering assignment, study, digital and numeracy skills and packed full of interactive modules, UniSkills is a one-stop, easy to use, interactive platform to help you through your university journey.
4. Get individual study help
Got a specific question about your course content or need help with studying? We have lots of one-on-one and tailored help available during semester. Check out Studiosity for online study help, the Peer Academic Mentoring program for help from a high achieving student and UniPASS for group study sessions in selected units.
5. Extend yourself (23 Things/Makerspace)
There’s more to uni than just studying – it’s an opportunity to expand your interests and learn important life skills. A great place to do this is our Makerspace. Get creative and make things with our huge range of equipment, like 3D printers, sewing machines and VR equipment, with staff on hand to help you learn. Or you might like to try our online digital skills program 23 Things. Made by students for students, you can choose from a buffet of different modules like coding, video editing and digital storytelling.
And don’t forget, you can always ask us for help – we’ll point you in the right direction! Good luck!
