An update on changes to State workplace vaccination requirements.
As many of you would be aware, the State Government has announced that its COVID-19 vaccination mandate for most workplaces will be revoked as of 10 June 2022. The only workplaces that will remain covered by the State’s mandate are health care and primary health care settings, residential aged care and residential disability settings. This is an important step by the State and one that Curtin is considering carefully in the context of our own vaccination requirements. The State has not released updated health modelling or the health advice that it has relied on. Curtin is taking the time to carefully update its risk assessment before taking further action.
Curtin’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy and COVID-19 Vaccination Procedures remain in place. If the updates to the risk assessment do indicate that a change to these is warranted, there will be consultation with Curtin staff, health and safety representatives, unions and the Curtin University Student Guild before any decision is made to implement a significant change to the Policy.
In the meantime, those who are eligible for a fourth dose will have at least until 7 October to receive this shot. Please continue to check OASIS for reminders if you are due to upload proof of second dose/booster vaccination.
