While building 105 is temporarily closed for construction, the Curtin Library maintains many of its library functions, like borrowing books, accessing quiet study spaces and Makerspace activities, across three new spaces on campus!
Now located in building 418, 201 and 103/106A, you’re still able to access everything you need to succeed at study this semester – not to mention access to a bunch of helpful online library services.
Finding your textbooks.
Buying shiny new textbooks can be expensive for new students, but you may find the Library has a copy of a textbook that you’ll be able to access for free! Start by searching the catalogue for your textbooks – most textbooks from the Library are available online. You can also head over to Library Central in Building 103/106A to pick-up Library books, browse our high demand collection or ask for help from our staff.
Getting creative.
Head to the Makerspace in Library 201 (Building 201, room 102) to learn a new skill and get those creative juices flowing! The Makerspace is open Monday to Friday, 12pm – 5pm. They have a large range of materials and equipment, from 3D printing, electronics and laser cutting, to art and craft, for anyone to use for free! Visit the Makerspace website for more information.
Accessing a quiet study spot.
Need a quiet space on campus to catch up on Ilectures or go over your class notes? Library 418 has got you covered. Located in the new School of Design and the Built Environment (Building 418), Library 418 is the perfect spot to focus on your studies and complete your work in peace.
Referencing.
The Library has comprehensive guides for all of the major referencing styles used at Curtin available online. If you’re having trouble, the Library Help staff in Library Central can also help you with basic referencing and search queries.
Improving your study skills.
There are lots of different workshops and programs you can participate in at the Library to brush up on your academic skills – both general and course-specific. Find out more about the Study Skills support available or visit the Library Event Calendar to check out upcoming workshops.
