Kaya to all our new and returning students. With semester about to kick off, now’s a great time to explore some of the support available to you through Curtin Careers.

Who we are

Curtin Careers is a dedicated team whose mission is to empower you to unlock your potential. How? By guiding and supporting you in gaining the knowledge, skills and experiences you need to engage, adapt, contribute and thrive in your career journey. Why? So, you are open, confident and ready for employment and career opportunities today and in the future.

What we do

Curtin Careers has a wide range of services and resources available to help you achieve both your short- and long-term career goals. We provide you with access to a Curtin exclusive online jobs board, job application support including instant resume feedback, leadership development workshops, and so much more.

We can support you with decision making around your study choices, help you brainstorm things you can do to boost your professionalism, and equip you with the knowledge and tools to find and interpret labour market information. All of this will enable you to implement targeted and effective job search strategies and a career plan that is right for you.

And, on top of all that, we work alongside your lecturers and tutors to develop career development content specific to your course, so don’t be surprised if you see us delivering in your classes.

What you can do

You can do a lot during your time at Curtin to develop your employability, start by being curious, gaining experience and giving back!

Be curious: Delve into our online Curtin Challenge modules – Explore your Options, Getting a Job, Leadership and Innovation, and The Skilled Professional – to help you better understand who you are, what you value and what career pathways your degree can lead to. We also have an online library full of career related resources, available 24/7, to inform and inspire you.

Gain experience: Whether it’s experience from casual work while you study, a course related placement or your dream job in your chosen industry, it all counts. Our online jobs board is a great place to look for opportunities to build your experience and, if you’re interested in casual and part time jobs on campus, check out Earn While You Learn.

Give back: Another great way to learn more about yourself, form meaningful connections and develop your skills and experience, all while giving back to the community, is through Curtin Volunteers!. There are several volunteer initiatives for you to choose from – give micro-volunteering a go, get involved in a community project or sign up for a John Curtin Weekend – the choice is yours!
