On Friday, 30 August, the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) hosted its inaugural Commerce Ball, “Starry Night,” at the Aloft Hotel. The FBL Sustainable event was hosted by student clubs Curtin Marketing Association, Curtin Women in Business, Curtin Business and Commerce Association and Enactus Curtin, alongside FBL Student Engagement.

With 120 students attending, the event was designed to foster a sense of belonging and enhance the student experience, offering an opportunity to celebrate, connect, and unwind. Hosted by Sean Palm, President of the Curtin Marketing Association, the evening featured an inspiring address from guest speaker Hannah Wilkinson, Director of Student Engagement. Students enjoyed dancing, a lively photo booth, and prizes throughout the night, all of which contributed to a fun and memorable event.

A special thank you goes to the Ball Committee, comprised of dedicated student leaders and staff, whose hard work made the event possible: Sean Palm, Tasmin Cilliers, Regina Ndossi, Mikaela McAuliffe, Alicia Caine, and Hannah Northey, along with staff members Annika Thorn, Jesse Emslie, Jane Cass, and Mike Pol. Their efforts created an inclusive and celebratory atmosphere that strengthened the sense of community within the faculty. Heartfelt thanks are also extended to Hannah Wilkinson for her thoughtful and motivating speech, which resonated with everyone present.

The success of the evening was a testament to the collaboration between students and staff, ensuring a positive experience for all who attended and laying the foundation for future events.
