The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is recruiting up to 100,000 temporary jobs to help deliver the federal election! Jobs are available before, on and after voting day – in particular, working on election night as Temporary Assistants.
These jobs are on the afternoon and evening election day and based in counting centres close to Curtin’s Perth Campus and a hub close to Curtin’s Kalgoorlie Campus.
What do you get?
- Earn income on a casual basis – up to 7 weeks depending on the role,

How much can I get paid?
Pay rates range from $30.14 to $36.64, this range includes the base hourly rate plus 25% loading. Overtime incurs a 50% or 100% loading. More information is available on the AEC website.
Are you eligible?
No experience is necessary as training is provided. To work at a federal election you must be an Australian Citizen and politically neutral. For most jobs, you need to be at least 18 years of age, and many roles require a police check before you start work.
