What happens when you bring four international students—each from different cultural backgrounds—together in one room for the first time? Will they click instantly, or will it be total chaos?
Well, the new season of the Curtin Life Original Series: I’m at Curtin, Now What? is about to put that to the test! This year’s fresh faces are ready to take on challenges, bring you to new places, and answer the question every new student asks in their first weeks of uni: I’m at Curtin, now what?
With four bold, charismatic personalities, this season promises plenty of laughs, surprises and maybe even a little friendly rivalry? The series premieres on 5 March, but before then, take the time to get to know your new hosts!

Aakanksha
Bucket List Dream: Move over, Rachel Berry! Aakanksha is ready to take centre stage. “I want all the attention on me when I’m singing,” she says, fully embracing her inner star. A stage, a mic, and a killer performance? It’s the dream, and she’s making it happen.
Fave Curtin Hangout: The Yarning Circle at the oval is a peaceful escape where she can unwind, reflect, and steal a quiet moment away from the bustle of uni life. Fresh air, good vibes, and maybe a snack. Sounds like perfection.
Random Fact: Don’t be fooled by her sweet side. She’s a brown belt in karate! Years of training mean she can hit high notes and throw a solid punch (only if necessary, of course).
Words to Live By: “Kindness costs nothing.” As an international student, she’s seen firsthand how much small acts of kindness can mean. “It’s easy to feel like an outsider, but a little kindness can change everything.”

Musa
Bucket List Dream: This year, Musa is all about balance. He still wants to have fun, but he also wants to make his family proud by hitting that Distinction average. “Not just for my parents or siblings, but my grandparents too,” he says. After an exciting first year full of good times, he’s ready to lock in and prove he can do it all.
Fave Curtin Hangout: While he loves studying at his accommodation with friends, the library is his go-to spot. “If I need a break, I just head to the open area with the bean bags and relax,” he says. It’s the perfect place to focus when needed and chill when needed.
Random Fact: He’s still thinking on this one. Sometimes the most interesting facts are the hardest to remember.
Words to Live By: “Take it one step at a time, but do things for yourself.” For Musa, uni isn’t just about grades. It’s about the people you meet, the experiences you build, and the future you shape. “The connections you make here can last a lifetime, so don’t be too hard on yourself.”

Kristel
Bucket List Dream: Volunteering isn’t just something Kristel does. It’s part of who she is. “Back home in the Philippines, I volunteered a lot. It’s something I truly love,” she says. After missing out on opportunities in her first year, she’s determined to give back this year. It’s time to make a difference again.
Fave Curtin Hangout: You’ll almost always find her on Level Seven. Whether she’s sprawled out on the bean bags, laughing with friends, or deep in study mode at the whiteboards, she loves the space. “We’re probably the loudest group there,” she admits with a laugh. A place to study, relax, and just enjoy good company. What more could you want?
Random Fact: She’s super sensitive to temperature. “Even the tiniest blast of air-con gets to me. I’m always the first to ask for a jacket,” she says. Whether it’s class, church, or a film shoot, she’s always on the lookout for an extra layer.
Words to Live By: “The person you should trust the most is yourself.” As an international student, this quote holds deep meaning for Kristel. “Moving to a new country, you don’t always have familiar faces to rely on. But learning to trust yourself makes all the difference.”

Ravish
Bucket List Dream: This year, Ravish is going all in on winning the talent show. “I’m practising hard. I’m going to sing with my guitar, but I also want to perform with a saxophone,” he says. Superstar dreams don’t wait. He’s making them happen.
Fave Curtin Hangout: That quiet open space near the library, just past the oval staircase. It’s a peaceful hideaway that’s perfect for unwinding, studying, or just taking in the atmosphere.
Random Fact: “I’m actually really nice!” he jokes. “It’s hard to believe, but I really respect people… sometimes.”
Words to Live By: “I know of no better life purpose than to perish attempting the great and impossible.” This Nietzsche quote fuels his ambition. “If something seems impossible, that’s exactly why it’s worth chasing.”
Ready to meet them?
Tune in on 5 March to watch Aakanksha, Musa, Kristel, and Ravish take on their biggest challenges yet in I’m at Curtin, Now What?
In the meantime, catch-up on last season, starring Celena and Devna!
