Curtin University is pleased to announce that we will be transitioning to a new Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provider, Medibank Private, effective 1 June 2024.
After a thorough review and consideration of feedback, we believe this change will enhance the student experience at Curtin University.
For those who already have OSHC, this transition will not affect your current coverage. If you wish to extend your existing health cover, please contact your current OSHC provider. Alternatively, you can purchase OSHC from any other approved Australian health insurance provider by contacting them directly.
For students considering Medibank Comprehensive OSHC through Curtin University, there are exclusive benefits, including:
- Waived Waiting Periods: Medibank waives waiting periods for mental health services, pregnancy and birth services, and out-of-hospital medical services for students with pre-existing conditions.
- Immediate Coverage: No waiting periods for ambulance services, treatment for non-pre-existing conditions requiring hospitalization, and emergency treatment for pre-existing conditions when certified as necessary.
- Repatriation Benefits: Coverage includes up to $100,000 for travel costs with medical supervision in cases of substantial disability or serious medical condition, and up to $10,000 for the repatriation of mortal remains.
- Mental Health Support: Additional benefits of $200 per annum for singles and $400 for couples and families towards privately billed psychology and counseling sessions.
