Following the Premier’s welcome announcement of relaxed COVID-19 restrictions, Curtin’s Perth campus and venues will reopen on Monday 8 February. However, the Mushalla and multi-faith venues on the Perth campus will remain closed until at least 15 February.
Curtin Stadium will reopen but will apply the four square metre rule to limit numbers. Masks must be worn when exercising, except for vigorous outdoor exercise.
Safety protocols as directed by the State Government will be in place for those on campus. Masks must be worn next week except when eating, drinking or presenting a class. Expanded SafeWA app usage will be in place and all campus users must scan or sign in to venues displaying the QR code.
It is each person’s responsibility to obtain a mask but a small number will be available from Curtin in an emergency situation, or if your mask breaks during the day, at the following locations:
- B115 (Safer Communities – preferred location)
- B502 (Health and Safety)
- B109 (Health Services)
- B111 (Stadium)
- B110 (Maintenance)
Replacement masks for the Murray Street sites can be obtained from security at the reception area in the Graduate School of Business building
Anyone undertaking Curtin-related travel outside of the Perth or Peel regions should obtain a letter from their supervisor on Curtin letterhead explaining the need to travel.
Student placements with public (government) organisations are expected to resume but placements with private organisations may not. Students are encouraged to contact their placement coordinator to clarify the situation regarding their placement.
The relaxation of restrictions is very positive, and everyone is encouraged to follow the new rules.
