Staff recognised at Vice-Chancellor’s Awards

The 2012 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence and Innovation have recognised some outstanding achievements by Curtin staff.

The awards were presented to the four winners in a ceremony on 22 November, acknowledging the innovative work of high performing staff who demonstrate outstanding achievement aligned to the University’s vision and values.

The Providing Inspirational Leadership award went to Professors Steven Tingay and Peter Hall from the Curtin Institute for Radio Astronomy, for their exceptional contribution to securing the hosting rights for part of the Square Kilometre Array telescope project.

Curtin’s Department of Chemistry staff took out the Enhancing the Student Experience award for their redesign of the undergraduate curriculum.

The Farm Business Resilience Program team won the Facilitating Partnerships and Engagement award for their highly effective pilot program that has Australia’s farmers re-evaluating their need to account for the economic and social impacts of climate change in their future risk management plans.

The Providing Quality Service award went to the Curtin Stuttering Treatment Clinic Team for the clinic’s exceptional work in treating patients and training students.
