Bags are packed and tickets issued for four of Curtin’s urban and regional planning students, who are set to leave Perth to work with international design studio HASSELL in Hong Kong and Singapore.
As recipients of New Colombo Plan scholarships, Alice Baldock, Yasmin Harris, Benjamin Richardson and Michael Tran will work alongside HASSELL’s industry experts on public transportation projects in the two cities.
HASSELL is an award-winning international studio with offices across Australia, Asia and the United Kingdom. Locally, the studio is best known for the design of the Fiona Stanley Hospital and the new 60,000-seat Perth Stadium currently being built on the Burswood foreshore.
“This opportunity will allow our students to take their learning across borders,” says Associate Professor Simon Leunig, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International.
“It is a chance for them to build their knowledge of the Indo-Pacific region and strengthen the relationship between Australia and our international neighbours.”
