Examinations for other institutions
Curtin University facilitates examinations for various Australian and overseas universities, colleges, institutions of further education and training, and other certified course providers who have students studying in Western Australia.
Most participating institutions are responsible for organising and paying for students to sit their examinations at Curtin. However, Curtin also provides a service for students who are responsible for organising the payment and scheduling of their own examinations.
Curtin can arrange examinations on any working day excluding Western Australian Public Holidays and the University Christmas shutdown period. Examinations can be arranged for either of two daily sessions:
- Morning session – examinations commence at 9:00am
Students must arrive at Curtin Connect Building 102 at Curtin Perth prior to 8:30am - Afternoon session – examinations commence at 2:00pm
Students must arrive at Curtin Connect Building 102 at Curtin Perth prior to 1:30pm
Institutions who are organising examinations on behalf of their students must follow these terms and conditions:
- The institution must complete a Facilitation and Invoice Agreement [.pdf 236kB] for the current year. The agreements are valid from 1 January to 31 December only.
- Completed agreements must be submitted to Progression, Assessment and Awards
- The institution should forward a list of all students’ full details including name and student number, examination title and code, scheduled date, time and length of the examination, and also specific reading times or special conditions of examinations or instructions to invigilators.
- It is the responsibility of the institution to ensure that all examination papers and relevant materials are sent to Curtin within a minimum of 48 hours of the scheduled date and time to allow timely facilitation of examinations. If examination papers and materials are not received within this time frame, Curtin reserves the right to cancel the exam.
- The institution should provide return envelopes or courier satchels for the return of the examinations. Curtin will return the completed scripts immediately following the examinations. If return envelopes are not provided a courier fee will be charged to the institution.
- Curtin does not provide a photocopying or scanning service for completed examination papers as part of the stipulated costs. If these services are required, a $10 fee will be charged per exam.
- Students who are unable to attend their examination must inform their institution immediately. Curtin should be advised by email from the institution of a student’s cancellation of their examination.
- Where 24 hours’ notice is given for a student who will not be attending, there will be no charge for the examination.
