If you’re concerned you might fail and you need support, Curtin has a range of support staff and services to help you study successfully. These comply with our Support for Students Policy, which is an Australian Government requirement for all Australian universities.

We have a range of study support available, including online resources, modules, workshops, study sessions and academic mentors to help you through your studies.
If you’re having trouble studying for a particular unit, or there’s an issue with your course, contact your tutor or unit coordinator to discuss your situation. You’ll find your unit coordinator’s details in your unit outline.
If your course doesn’t feel right for you, talk to your course coordinator. You’ll be able to get their details from your unit coordinator, whose contact information is listed in your unit outline.
You can also chat to our Careers Team about career pathways and possibilities, or browse online resources that will help you explore your career options.
If you have a disability, physical or mental health condition, or if you are caring for someone with a disability, you can access a range of support services, including accommodations and access plans.

We have a range of support available. You can get counselling and wellbeing support by seeing our wellbeing advisors and counsellors; joining group workshops; and accessing resources for a range of wellbeing, neurodiversity and mental health topics.
If you can access the Perth Campus, the Curtin University Health Service has a team of dedicated health professionals to meet your medical needs. If this isn’t an option for you, you can search for medical providers by postcode on the Health Direct website.

If you need help searching for accommodation, or if you’re having trouble with your existing accommodation, our Accommodation Coaches are here to provide advice and support.

Our social workers can help you in a crisis, including around housing, financial support, and family violence, or if you need to extract yourself from stressful or dangerous circumstances.

In 2023, the Australian Government committed to the Australian Universities Accord, which is a vision to reform Australia’s higher education system. This requires all higher education providers to enact a Support for Students Policy that ensures students at risk of failing their courses are identified, and students are properly supported to study successfully.
