Student support for your child
Starting university is a big step, which is why Curtin has a range of resources to help your child along the way.
Learning services
We provide many resources and learning support services designed to help your child succeed at university. Whether they need helpful tips to study, a mentor to provide guidance, or even career advice as they’re nearing the end of their degree, we have the tools to help them succeed.
Learning support
At Curtin, your child can participate in a range of workshops and online programs to improve their writing and study skills.
Career advice
Curtin provides various support that your child may find useful for planning their career path after university.
Mentoring
Good mentors can be invaluable, which is why we have mentoring programs for new students, students with a disability or health condition, Indigenous students and postgraduate students.
Library programs
The Curtin University Library offers students a range of study and learning resources, and is helping to create a new suite of programs called UniSkills.
UniPASS
UniPASS is a program of informal group study sessions. It can help your child with strategies for passing challenging units and networking with like-minded students.
Elite Athlete Program (EAP)
If your child is an elite athlete, our Elite Athlete Program (EAP) can help them study for their future careers while still participating in their sport at an elite level.
Health and wellbeing support
Studying can be demanding, so it’s important that students have access to on-campus services that support their emotional and physical health.
Health services
Our Perth campus has a medical centre where your child can visit a doctor or speak with professional counsellors about any issue that is affecting their studies.
Disability support
If your child has a disability, our Disability and Accessibility Support Services can provide them with study and learning assistance and help with mobility and access needs.
Wellbeing support
If your child is struggling with a study or personal issue, or they just don’t know where to go or who to ask, our student wellbeing advisors can help. The service is free and confidential.
Safety on campus
We have a Safer Community team that monitors our campus every day of the year. Plus, our SafeZone Security App enables students to speak directly with the team, who can see the exact location of anyone on campus who calls for help.
