The focus on building practical skills has been incredibly useful in the Master of Midwifery. The combination of clinical teaching labs, practical experience on clinical work placements and partnerships with pregnant women helps to prepare you for real-world experiences.

The thing I enjoyed most about the Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology was the small group of students in the course. We all had every class together, which made us a really tight group of friends. My degree also gave me the confidence in my ability to provide the best possible care to any of my future clients.

I felt really lucky to gain tertiary hospital experience at Fiona Stanley Hospital through my final year placement. I also had the opportunity to travel within the Midwest and Gascoyne regions of WA and gain experience working in the country, which has really shaped my dietetics practice.

After working as a veterinarian, I chose to study the Master of Occupational Health and Safety at Curtin to advance my career in the veterinary sector, gain further knowledge, and undertake a research project under the supervision of Professor Lin Fritschi. In this course we learned about occupational diseases, the science of accidents, and developed a range of skills in risk assessment, management, and research. This course was extremely beneficial in helping me improve the health and safety outcomes of Australian vets, vet nurses and students through my company, Safervets.
